Let’s get smarter in our bodies, challenging our brains to keep up with some serious multi-tasking layers and intelligent anatomical application so we can train ourselves to do pointlessly difficult things...just ‘cause we want to. Circles on 8’s? Polyrhythms? Multiple speeds? Footwork, arms, undulations, shimmies? We can do it all. At the same time. And when we can’t, we’ll just laugh at ourselves.

Latin-Bellydance Technique and Choreography

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm (2 hrs)

Take your bellydancing life to a hot new level! Have fun Belly Dancing AND Latin dancing, drilling technique (Latin and Bellydance) and learning dazzling combos incorporating bellydance with some of the most basic steps of Salsa, Cha-Cha-Cha, Merengue, Samba, and more. Angel will then sprinkle a little Latin seasoning onto your usual drum solo recipe by teaching you one of her favorite Latin-bellydance drum solo pieces. She will also break down the fluidity between the Latin dance and bellydance transitional steps. Angel will provide helpful tips on how to create your own Latin-Bellydance choreography without letting one style override the other. Both of Angel’s Latin and Bellydance technique is quite useful for all dancers who wish to be more versatile and wish to achieve that “polished” look we all desire in our dancing such as elegant posture, sharp isolations, clean arms stylizations, basic shimmies, easy to follow traveling steps, drills and combos. Bring your water and towel and be prepared to sweat!
